The IDF’s Military Advocate General, Maj. Gen. Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi, was arrested on Sunday, after admitting last week to her involvement in leaking a video from a controversial Israeli detention center.
The Military Advocate General is the top internal investigator within the IDF, responsible for investigating misconduct, advising on rules of engagement, and ensuring that the army operates in accordance with Israeli and international law. In essence, the office functions as the military’s internal watchdog, maintaining accountability and ethical standards within the ranks.
Tomer-Yerushalmi’s arrest is just the latest chapter in a months-long controversy surrounding Sde Teiman, a detention center in southern Israel where many Gazans were held during the war. Reports and leaked footage from the site have sparked intense public debate over the treatment of detainees and the military’s oversight of the facility.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the leak of the video from Sde Teiman “perhaps the most severe public relations attack the State of Israel has experienced since its establishment.” He stressed that the video “caused immense damage to the image of the State of Israel and to our soldiers.” Other Israelis argued that separate issues, such as controversial statements made by Israeli politicians and activists, received more attention internationally, including in international courts.

China’s military engagements in the region include arms and weapons sales, technology transfers, and dual-use telecommunications infrastructure, especially in Serbia. Chinese military sales to Serbia outpace other regional arms relationships. While the Western Balkans constitute a small share of this percentage, Serbia is now China’s primary military client in Europe. To complement its recent purchase of French Rafale fighter jets, Mistral air defense systems, and Airbus C-295 transport aircraft, China is supplying Serbia with FK-3 medium-range air defense missile systems, CH-92A and CH-95 combat drones, and 18 FT-8C laser-guided missiles. Moreover, in July 2025, Serbia and China held Peace Defenders joint military exercises in Hebei, China, including special operations forces to strengthen interoperability.
In addition, technology transfers from China assist Serbia in completing sophisticated military projects. One project is ‘Pegaz’ (Pegasus), which is facilitated by China’s state-owned Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation. The project will reconstitute Serbia’s 353rd Intelligence Surveillance squadron to specialize in intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) drone operations. China-Serbia defense exchanges include military training sessions for Serbia’s 250th Air Defense Missile Brigade on Chinese air defense systems.
Serbia embraces China for several reasons. First, Belgrade views it as a dependable security partner that does not interfere in its domestic politics. Second, China-led defense and security cooperation resonates in Serbia as China opposes Kosovo’s sovereignty and independence and objected to NATO military intervention in Serbia in 1999, including the bombing of the Chinese embassy in Belgrade. Third, the growing bilateral military relationship reflects Serbia’s attempt to diversify suppliers and strategic partnerships beyond traditional Western and Russian sources. For China, the relationship extends technological dependencies in ways that could undercut NATO and position it as an alternative security partner beyond Serbia.

It is not Russia that threatens Germany and Europe, but the imperialist powers who are the aggressors. The reactionary invasion of Ukraine by the Putin regime does not change the fact that NATO systematically provoked the conflict. After the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991, NATO advanced to Russia’s borders despite all assurances, encircled the resource-rich and geopolitically central country militarily and turned Ukraine de facto into a NATO outpost. Since the Russian invasion, the imperialist powers have continually escalated the conflict and are preparing for a direct war against the nuclear-armed power. The German military leadership, in particular, seemingly cannot move fast enough.
Breuer repeatedly emphasises the element of time: “By the end of the decade we must not only have a strong active force, but just as strong a reserve—to be ready for defence and to be able to deter.” In doing so, Breuer clearly names the target which the government and NATO have long since set: Germany and Europe must be capable of waging war against Russia by 2030 at the latest.
This deadline appears verbatim in the “Defence Readiness 2030 Roadmap” adopted at the most recent EU summit, which provides for building a comprehensive war economy in Europe. As the WSWS warned in its commentary on the summit, this “roadmap” means nothing less than the mobilisation of the entire continent for a great war against Russia.

However, this contradicts the rulings of Italian courts on lawsuits filed by approximately 500 Kosovo War veterans who developed cancer after coming into contact with depleted uranium ammunition.
The prominent role of Jewish Bolsheviks like Leon Trotsky and Grigory Zinoviev in the Russian Revolution of 1917 enabled a merger of antisemitism and anticommunism that survived the fascist era. Cold War red-baiters such as Senator Joseph McCarthy and the John Birch Society assigned to communists uncanny degrees of malice and ubiquity, far beyond the real threat of Soviet espionage. In fact, they presented this view as the only logical one. McCarthy claimed that a string of national security setbacks could be explained only if George C. Marshall, the secretary of defense and former secretary of state, was literally a Soviet agent. “How can we account for our present situation unless we believe that men high in this government are concerting to deliver us to disaster?” he asked in 1951. “This must be the product of a great conspiracy so immense as to dwarf any previous such venture in the history of man.”
This continuity between antisemitism, anticommunism, and 18th-century paranoia about secret societies isn’t hard to see. General Francisco Franco, Spain’s right-wing dictator, claimed to be fighting a “Judeo-Masonic-Bolshevik” conspiracy. The Nazis persecuted Freemasons alongside Jews and communists. Nesta Webster, the British fascist sympathizer who laundered the Protocols through the British press, revived interest in Robison and Barruel’s books about the Illuminati, which the pro-Nazi Baptist preacher Gerald Winrod then promoted in the US. Even Winston Churchill was briefly persuaded by Webster’s work, citing it in his claims of a “world-wide conspiracy for the overthrow of civilization … from the days of Spartacus-Weishaupt to the days of Karl Marx.”

In the first installment of this series, Unlimited Hangout examines the Italian businessman Flavio Briatore, sometimes referred to in the press as “Italy’s Donald Trump” because of his long-running friendship with the current president, and how his rise to prominence and wealth was fueled by a series of seedy associations to the same network of organized crime and intelligence operatives that also aided the rise of Epstein. As detailed in the two-volume book One Nation Under Blackmail, this network is ultimately controlled by powerful financial interests and unaccountable mob-linked oligarchs who have made powerful nation states, including the U.S., their play thing. This article will also detail how Briatore, along with Donald Trump and others, were once accused by Epstein’s butler Alfredo Rodriguez of being “material witnesses” to Epstein’s sex trafficking crimes. Rodriguez died in 2014 shortly after serving time in prison in relation to his failed efforts to sell the now infamous “black book” of Jeffrey Epstein.
However, first, this article will examine the supermodel Naomi Campbell, who was introduced to Epstein by Briatore – her one-time fianceé and subsequently “her mentor.” Campbell later flew on Epstein’s plane and, shortly after ending her relationship with Briatore, became romantically involved with the rapper Diddy, who would remain her close friend years after their romantic flame went out. Diddy’s own sex trafficking scandal and trial has been a focus on media attention for much of the past several months and Campbell has been accused of involvement in Diddy’s alleged criminal activity.
Despite whatever ambitious terminology is employed to rebrand the age-old scientific-ization of racism and elitist supremacy, the philosophical underpinnings of eugenics remain the same. Whether one seeks to eradicate undesirable traits within a population through top-down arrangement or transhumanistic alterations, each strategy breaks down individuals into measurable parts — rejecting the sanctity of human life. Both confuse seemingly “optimal” traits with inherently valuable ones, and cling to the material world in such a way that reduces the complexity of the universe into an algorithmic, “scientific” system. The spontaneity found in a forest becomes replaced by the structural organization of a corporation or a state. Most simply, the material world becomes the answer to everything –– to evolution, death and life itself.
But Epstein’s eugenics fantasies are not the mad thoughts of a singularly strange individual isolated from the rest of society. Quite to the contrary, they represent a way of thinking endemic to the Big Tech oligarchs that have come to dominate the American political sphere in the 21st century. Indeed, as the new Bloomberg cache reveals, Epstein’s eugenicist ambitions tie him to some of the most prestigious figures and institutions in academia, Big Tech, and science. Furthermore, they express the convergence of these sectors, and the deluded, self-serving ideologies to which they are tied.

While Lumin’s Cold Harbor is most akin to the CIA’s secretive Cold- War-era mass torture/mind control program MKULTRA, it also parallels the underlying philosophy of eugenics; the belief that human beings are not whole, but rather, comprised of measurable and manipulatable parts, parts that with enough care and precision can be extracted, studied, changed and exploited to produce superior outcomes. Going back to early 20th century eugenics, before biotechnology was being produced by Big Pharma en masse, this belief was embedded in the field, with eugenicists believing that with the correct arrangement of society, society’s leaders could make “desirable” traits proliferate, and wipe “undesirable” ones from existence.
With transhumanism, however, made possible through mass surveillance-reliant biotechnology, the idea of the measurable, divided human becomes even more clear. Inherent to transhumanism is a near-religious deference to data — for in the minds of transhumanists, it is data that extrapolates the divided parts of humanity into a form that is applicable and manipulatable.
