How Corporate Partnerships Powered University Surveillance of Palestine Protests

What the students didn’t know at the time was that the University of Houston had contracted with Dataminr, an artificial intelligence company with a troubling record on constitutional rights, to gather open-source intelligence on the student-led movement for Palestine. Using an AI tool known as “First Alert,” Dataminr was scraping students’ social media activity and chat logs and sending what it learned to university administration.

This is the first detailed reporting on how a U.S. university used the AI technology to surveil its own students. It’s just one example of how public universities worked with private partners to surveil student protests, revealing how corporate involvement in higher education can be leveraged against students’ free expression.

Roma Lister, Aradia, and the Speculative Origins of a Witchcraft Revival

In 1899, Charles Godfrey Leland published Aradia, “the gospel of the witches”, containing a goddess-orientated creation and saviour narrative, purported to descend from an ancient, hermetic tradition of witchcraft in Italy. A. D. Manns explores this text via an enchanting conjecture: that the writer, medium, and witch Roma Lister played a pivotal role in the formation of both Aradia and, therefore, a new form of paganism called Wicca.

In 1899, the aging American journalist Charles Godfrey Leland brought out what he described as a bona fide witchcraft “scripture” of unknown authorship. Asserting that he had acquired the source material republished in Aradia, or, The Gospel of the Witches from Maddalena, a Tuscan fortune teller, Leland presented the book as a groundbreaking discovery proving that paganism had survived undetected in Italy since at least the Middle Ages. Although Leland said the original manuscript — since lost — was in Maddalena’s handwriting, he believed that Maddalena had “derived” its content from an older oral tradition. Leland had, he claimed, spent over ten years trying to find this legendary gospel (the Vangelo), scouring the Italian countryside while immersing himself in a world of “witches and shadows, faded gods and forgotten goblins of the olden time”.12
[…]
What was novel about the manuscript was its goddess-orientated creation and saviour narrative, a “myth found nowhere else” (in the words of witchcraft historian Ronald Hutton).3 The book explained that the Goddess Diana instructed her daughter, Aradia, to save poor and disenfranchised members of society from enslavement. To fulfil this mandate, Aradia taught them sorcery, an art enabling the downtrodden not only to free themselves from the subjugation of the rich, but also to destroy hierarchies of oppression in their entirety.4

Greek-American Agent Ioannides Tied to CIA’s JFK Cover-Up

A pivotal CIA memo, dated January 17, 1963, explicitly instructed Ioannides to operate under the alias “Howard Gebler” and utilize a fake driver’s license. Until last Thursday, the CIA had consistently denied that Ioannides was known as “Howard,” the very name of the CIA contact linked to the case. Ioannides worked closely with the Cuban Student Directorate (DRE), an anti-communist group opposed to Fidel Castro, covertly financing and directing their activities.

For decades, the agency also falsely claimed to have no connection to the DRE. This student group played a pivotal role in disseminating information on Oswald’s pro-Castro leanings immediately after Kennedy’s assassination, an act now understood to have been at least indirectly influenced by Ioannides’ operations.

“The Ioannides cover-up story is officially dead,” declared Jefferson Morley, a renowned author and expert on the Kennedy assassination, to Axios. “This is a big deal. The CIA is changing its mind about Lee Harvey Oswald.”

Whistleblower reveals CIA boasted about deceiving Congress in JFK assassination probe

Now, a former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA)-Department of State historian has come forward with explosive claims that the agency deliberately misled congressional investigators—and even bragged about it in an internal report.

Thomas Pearcy, now a history professor at Slippery Rock University, told Axios that while working in a secure CIA facility in 2009, he stumbled upon a classified inspector general’s report detailing how intelligence officials misled the House Select Committee on Assassinations (HSCA) during its late-1970s probe into Kennedy’s murder.

The document allegedly contained a 1978 memo in which a CIA officer boasted about presenting sanitized files to HSCA chief counsel Robert Blakey, obscuring key details about Oswald’s activities in Mexico City weeks before the assassination.

A deliberate cover-up?

Pearcy described the report as a “blueprint of a cover-up, how to lie to Congress and the American people.” According to his account, CIA officers provided Blakey with heavily redacted versions of investigative files from the agency’s Mexico City Station, where Oswald had visited the Cuban and Soviet embassies in September 1963. The originals allegedly contained surveillance photos and film, which the CIA has long denied possessing.

‘The Anti-Blackness of the US Is Extending to Black Asylum Seekers’

Janine Jackson: People around the world were appalled to see pictures of US Border Patrol officers on horseback wielding reins like whips in the effort to corral and capture Haitian refugees along the Rio Grande. So alarming was the imagery that outlets like the New York Times took pains to clarify that there was no evidence that Border Patrol had actually whipped anyone.

That rather encapsulates corporate media coverage of Haitian asylum seekers and the treatment they receive, so inhumane that not one, but two officials have resigned over it. It’s a sort of liberal tut-tutting that not only fails to challenge US policy, but that tacitly sanctions its harms and their racist rationales with inattention.

Fascists march through Madrid to commemorate dictator’s anniversary

Performing fascist salutes and carrying Franco-era national flags, members of the Falange — an organisation that considers itself the heir to the now-defunct fascist movements that helped bring Franco to power during the devastating 1936–1939 civil war — gathered on November 21 to honour the movement’s founder, Jose Antonio Primo de Rivera, Euractiv reported.

De Rivera’s death anniversary falls on the same date as Franco’s, but the Falange primarily used the occasion to denounce what it calls democratic Spain’s 1978 constitutional “regime,” which followed the end of Franco’s rule from 1939 to 1975, which continues to divide society and fuel political polarisation.

Ukraine Has Lost the War – Part 32 of the Anglo-American War on Russia

The Ukraine War is rarely covered by western corporate media anymore except for occasional stories about evil Russians killing civilians with missile strikes. Western politicians describe the war as a stalemate, even though Russian forces advance several kilometers at several places each week. Russian forces recently captured four small cities and have nearly surrounded four more. Thousands of trapped Ukrainian soldiers have surrendered the past two months.

Russia’s war industry outproduces NATO nations while Ukraine has shortages of air defense missiles and artillery munitions. Russian losses are manageable and the war enjoys strong support at home. President Putin seems to enjoy this slow war because he is winning, while NATO nations suffer from energy shortages, budget deficits, and popular unrest.

In October, Russia began striking Ukrainian energy facilities with missile and drone attacks, knocking out half the power in Ukraine. This is huge problem in winter and affects Ukraine rail system since most is electric rail. Heat and food shortages prompted a new wave of Ukrainians fleeing to Western Europe. This caused major political headaches since Europeans are angry at the cost to support this mindless war and housing millions of refugees. Poland recently announced that it has over a million Ukrainian refugees and can accept no more. 2026 will be an interesting year in Europe that hopefully allows a rational settlement of this conflict.

Saudi Arabia just said NO to Israel & the US — Sharmine Narwani

Despite a ceasefire on paper, Israel continues to pound Palestine. On November 20 alone, Israeli strikes killed at least 32 people, including a baby girl in the town of Bani Suhalia. Gazan officials are warning that toxic materials from the continued Israeli bombardment may be seeping into the groundwater, further undermining one of the world’s most water-scarce areas. Israel has killed 280 Palestinians in Gaza since the ceasefire was enacted.

“Israel is bombing Gaza left, right, and center,” Narwani said, concluding that, “What we have learned from all this is that a negotiated ceasefire with Israel is not worth the paper it is printed on.”

Nevertheless, Narwani predicted economic difficulties in Israel’s future, due to its greatly increased debts. Describing the country as possessing a “zombie economy,” she noted that it was issuing increased amounts of government bonds to pay the U.S. back for the weapons it was supplying. But there might come a time when it will not be able to pay back its debts, she warned.

Israel is also striking targets in Lebanon, and extracting a heavy civilian toll. On Monday, a strike on a Palestinian refugee camp in southern Lebanon killed at least 13 people, according to a statement from the Lebanese Health Ministry. The IDF even used widely-banned cluster munitions in its attacks on Lebanon, a new study has revealed. This has met with minimal resistance from the region’s major powers, including Saudi Arabia, who, Narwani explained, “want the resistance in Lebanon to be disarmed, dismantled, dead.”

The primary source of serious resistance to Israeli aggression has come from a somewhat unlikely source: Yemen. The region’s poorest nation, and one that has been under attack for over a decade, the Ansar Allah-led movement has offered serious pushback to Israeli actions, with Yemen imposing a blockade of Israeli ships in the Red Sea, forcing the Israeli port of Eilat into bankruptcy.

“One of the reasons that the Yemeni resistance has been so successful is because, by and large, they don’t speak English, and they don’t read the Western press,” Narwani told Adley, explaining that:

They are untouched by the propaganda narrative that has made, in my view, many of the other members of the resistance axis too well-behaved, and too well-mannered… They don’t have colonized minds.”

Western and Israeli intelligence attempts to infiltrate the country have also proven to be less fruitful than hoped, and the great majority of Yemenis support the continuation of resistance to Israeli expansionism.

Don’t miss this episode, where we take a bird’s eye view of the political and economic situation across the subcontinent.

Weather as a Force Multiplier

The blueprint for an operational US Army/Air Force project, which has Congressional funding, called ‘Owning the Weather’. By disturbing the ionosphere and creating cirrus clouds on a global scale with afterburner jets, the US is trying to ‘own the weather’.

Weather as a Force Multiplier: Owning the Weather in 2025
A Research Paper Presented To Air Force 2025

vi Executive Summary

In 2025, US aerospace forces can “own the weather” by capitalizing on emerging technologies and
focusing development of those technologies to war-fighting applications. Such a capability offers the war fighter tools to shape the battlespace in ways never before possible. It provides opportunities to impact operations across the full spectrum of conflict and is pertinent to all possible futures. The purpose of this paper is to outline a strategy for the use of a future weather-modification system to achieve military objectives rather than to provide a detailed technical road map.

A high-risk, high-reward endeavor, weather-modification offers a dilemma not unlike the splitting of the
atom. While some segments of society will always be reluctant to examine controversial issues such as
weather-modification, the tremendous military capabilities that could result from this field are ignored at our own peril. From enhancing friendly operations or disrupting those of the enemy via small-scale tailoring of natural weather patterns to complete dominance of global communications and counterspace control, weather-modification offers the war fighter a wide-range of possible options to defeat or coerce an adversary. Some of the potential capabilities a weather-modification system could provide to a war-fighting commander in chief (CINC) are listed in table 1.

Technology advancements in five major areas are necessary for an integrated weather-modification
capability: (1) advanced nonlinear modeling techniques, (2) computational capability, (3) information
gathering and transmission, (4) a global sensor array, and (5) weather intervention techniques. Some
intervention tools exist today and others may be developed and refined in the future.

10 Secret U.S. Government Operations, Revealed

1 / 10 Project Sunshine: Steal corpses

In the 1950s, in an effort to study the effects of nuclear weapons, the federal government established a worldwide network to secretly collect tissue samples from more than 900 human cadavers. The “body snatching” took place in secret, without notification or permission from each deceased’s next of kin.

In 1994, President Bill Clinton formed an advisory committee to investigate so that these government secrets wouldn’t stay secret or continue to inspire conspiracy theorists. The result was a 900-page report acknowledging the unethical and illegal actions taken during Project Sunshine.
