“…Together, the names of those in Epstein’s inner circle appear thousands of times across the newly released files. Though they haven’t had the same level of scrutiny that more famous people who appear in the files have received, that may start to change. Over the coming months, several of them are scheduled to testify in front of the House Oversight Committee.

Richard Kahn, Epstein’s longtime accountant, and Darren Indyke, his personal attorney, both of whom are co-executors of Epstein’s estate, are slated to testify on March 11 and March 19. Lesley Groff, Epstein’s executive assistant, was asked by the committee to appear on June 9.

A diagram produced by the US government identified some members of Epstein’s inner circle. In the end, federal prosecutors charged only one of them as a co-conspirator: Ghislaine Maxwell, his ex-girlfriend and accomplice who is currently serving a 20-year sentence for federal sex trafficking crimes.

Many in Epstein’s inner circle worked closely with him for years until he was arrested in July 2019. In return, some were remembered in his will to the tune of millions of dollars — though that money has yet to be distributed because the will has not gone into effect yet.

A French modeling scout, Brunel first met Epstein’s then-girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell sometime in the early-1990s, according to Maxwell. It’s unclear how Brunel and Epstein first met, but around this time, Brunel started an American outpost of the modeling agency, Karin Models.

Around 2005, Epstein gave Brunel approximately $1 million to start his own modeling agency, MC2 Modeling, in Miami and appeared to financially support the company for years.

Interviews with former Epstein staff employees suggest that Brunel introduced Epstein to girls and was a major conduit to securing work visas for the models, who often hailed from Eastern European countries.

Brunel and Epstein exchanged hundreds of emails, often messaging to “call” one another back. A message pad from September 2005 obtained by law enforcement shows that Brunel left a message for Epstein saying he found him a “2×8 years old” Russian language teacher, “not blonde.”

“…More than CHF24 million ($30.8 million) worth of dual-use or specific military goods were exported to Israel following the attacks of October 7, 2023, according to export permits covering the period up to March 2025 consulted by RTS. The increase in activity was particularly stark since the first quarter of 2024, with nearly CHF6 million worth of dual-use goods exported to Israel, compared with CHF238,000 in the last three months of 2023. This trend had already been reported in August 2024.

This high level of exports of “sensitive” goods to Israel complies with the regulatory framework, said the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), which issues the export permits. However, this interpretation of the law is contested (see infobox). The broader context also raises questions. In November 2024, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for leading figures in the Israeli government, while a few months earlier, in April 2024, a resolution of the UN Human Rights Council called for an arms embargo on Israel and greater vigilance regarding dual-use goods.

“…A Greek appeals court on Wednesday handed 13-year prison terms to leaders of the neo-Nazi Golden Dawn party in a landmark case over crimes committed at the height of the country’s economic crisis.

The court last week had already found several officials, including its founder-leader Nikos Michaloliakos, guilty of “running a criminal organisation”.

Michaloliakos and five other officials were sentenced to 13-year jail terms — but the 68-year-old leader will remain free on health grounds. His wife Eleni Zaroulia, a former Golden Dawn lawmaker, was however ordered to serve a five year term for participation in a criminal organisation.

Zaroulia had called migrants disease-carrying “sub-humans” in a 2012 speech in parliament.

More than 30 other party officials and members received jail sentences of four to 10 years. Most have already served their terms, or were granted conditional release.

Crimes attributed to the group include the savage beating of Egyptian fishermen in 2012 and the murder of anti-fascist rapper Pavlos Fyssas in 2013…”
